As a teacher, I view the classroom as an incubator for knowledge and personal growth. Thus, the goal of my teaching is to:
Aside from teaching students the basics, I am also a strong believer in learning by doing. Being able to apply course concepts in a real world settings can be a helpful, transformative, and memorable learning experience for students. Thus, I value the integration of service learning and participatory research (when appropriate), to place students in diverse settings to draw connections with what they learn in class and the real world.
By the end of a course, I measure success not only by students’ substantive knowledge, but also their ability to think critically, communicate their ideas effectively, and apply what they learned to the world around them.

- help them understand key concepts and theories
- broaden and diversify their worldviews
- equip them with skills necessary to be critical research consumers and knowledge producers
